CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO DEVELOP A TECHNICAL DOCUMENTARY SERIES ON THE CHARACTERIZATION OF THE TRANSITION TO ELECTRIC MOBILITY IN GHANA

Call for expression of interest

1. BACKGROUND
The Commission, as part of efforts to create responsible and sustainable electricity demand in the country, embarked on a Drive Electric Initiative (DEI) in 2019, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy to introduce electric vehicles in Ghana. The Commission is promoting the adoption of electric vehicles to create demand and drive the productive utilisation of the excess electricity supply in the system. The DEI is an innovative move by the Commission in achieving an increase in electricity demand sustainably to match supply as a way of partially addressing the electricity generation over capacity, prevent Ghana from becoming a dumping ground for internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles which are becoming outmoded in the European Union and other countries and to usher in an era of green and sustainable technology for the future and help to deal with environmental pollution as vehicular population grows.

2. OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The objectives of the assignment are;

i. To document and characterise the transition to Electric Mobility in Ghana, liaising with all key state holders in the public, private, developmental as well as in the transport and energy sectors;
ii. Conduct on the ground assessments of the progress so far under the Drive Electric Initiative; and
iii. Advise on and propose any strategic initiatives to complement current initiatives towards a net zero future.

3. SCOPE OF WORK
This task will focus on the documentation and presentation of the background and progress so far under the Drive Electric Initiative. The project shall involve two major areas;

i. Technical project preparation including technical script writing;
ii. A video documentary series on a wide reaching popular platform such as YouTube including a series of in-depth feature articles on a world leading platform for
developments and news in the electric vehicle industry.

4. In view of this, the Energy Commission invites proposals from eligible Consultant/ Consulting firm with rich experiences and knowledge to provide consultancy services for the above assignment.

5. ELIGIBILITY
An eligible Consultant/Consulting firm shall possess and provide the following documents/information:

I. Letter of interest;
II. Profile of Consultancy experience and relevant capabilities;
III. Valid Business Registration Certificate;
IV. Valid Tax clearance certificate with a copy of receipts of payment;
V. Valid PPA Supplier Registration Certificate;
VI. Curriculum Vitae (CV) of experts with the requisite capability and experience to successfully deliver such assignment;
VII. Evidence of similar activity carried out within the last three (3) years; and
VIII. Any other information relevant to the assignment.

6. Interested Consultants/Consulting firms may obtain further information at the Procurement Unit, 1st Floor, Room No. 104 from Wednesday, 2 rd March, 2022
during working hours (9:00 am to 4:00 pm).

7. Interested Consultants/Consulting firms must submit one original and four photocopies of the Expression of Interest marked “Consultancy Services to develop a technical documentary series on the characterization of the transition to electric mobility in Ghana” and must be delivered to the address below before or on Wednesday, 16 th March, 2022 at 10:00 am.
