    The Administration and Human Resource Unit is the main support wing of the Commission, providing support services including personnel administration functions such as manpower planning; recruitment (including specifying jobs and roles) and separation of staff (i.e. retirement/termination); as well as human resource management and development policy formulation and implementation, including compliance with such policies and regulations.

    The Natural Gas Division of the Energy Commission of Ghana is responsible for matters relating to the natural gas industry: initiating and recommending the licensing of providers of energy derived from natural gas, elaboration of technical and safety rules, regulations and standards for the natural gas industry; inspection and monitoring of compliance with the rules, regulations and codes of practice by natural gas operators.

    The Renewable Energy Division is responsible for managing, developing and promoting renewable energy resources, technologies and generation in Ghana. Its efforts are focused on solar photovoltaic systems for stand-alone and grid connected; wind energy resource assessment and generation; mini/small hydro development; and bioenergy resource assessment and development to enhance food security, environmental safety and health.
